What is the Essential Question that drives my work?
How does mythology effect different people, what does it mean to me?
Many of my main strengths that I have demonstrated in these pieces are digital and watercolor, tough this year I've mainly worked digitally. For digital works I start by sketching in Sketchbook, an app on my iPad. I then make a new layer, adjust my composition and start my final draft. For traditional pieces, I start with a thumbnail sketch in my sketch book, then create a sketch that is to scale with what I want that work to be. I experimented a lot this year, specifically with trying new techniques and media. My first three investigations were me experimenting with different watercolor techniques, such as using salt and dropping water. Before this year I had only done one digital piece so I tried it again, and liked it. I continued to work on my digital art skills for most of my investigations. Through out my investigations I didn't always succeed in what I wanted to create. For example number 5 is a bunch of symbols of the Celtic moon goddess, but I didn't like the way it turned out and didn't feel it sent the message I was hoping to convey. So I redid it as a completely different art piece, number 10. Through all these pieces I followed the same question, tweaking it a bit to fit the idea I had in my head for each specific work.
